These examples of Babaji's selfless mission has been a great motivation and inspiration for devotees all around the world, who took initiatives injoining hands with their guru in this great mission. Thus in every region formed volunteers who extended their seva by going out to far interiors of many places and personally delivering the deliverables with the same enthusiasm and love that Babaji holds for these responsibilities. Today, these activities can be seen undertaken in India and foreign countries with the help of volunteers through whom the Foundation reaches all requirements and foods into even remote locations identified by the sadhaks.
Babaji is very particular when it comes to doing such seva for humanity and He always mentions that any charity or offerings made to society has to be personally monitored and undertaken with self-responsibility to ensure the real purpose of these sevas. Same of such was seen in the month of July, when the seva team sprung in action as usual driven by Guruma and Ishan ji. There were multiple visits made for days in a stretch at various locations in and around New Delhi. Every place, every seva, it was ensured that the purpose of the visits was served - bringing joy and happiness to all. There was no better joy than to see the happy and contended faces of children and elderly.
It was a surprise to the children and staff of an all-girls orphanage when the Foundation team decided to drop in and provide them with delicacies. As all the little ones sat awaiting the team, they wondered what was in for them. Soon every little hand was filled with delicacies and soft drinks, which they relished with joy. It is rare that children from orphanages get to go out or get something to eat from outside since they live in protected environments.
Such a joy to see these face lit up brightly and eating and drinking to their content. Seeing the warm approach, the orphanage in-charge reported their inability to store food or preserve eatables in cold storage owing to the lurching temperatures of New Delhi and soon immediately Babaji's Foundation ordered for a refrigerator that was delivered three days later, this time more eatables and beverages for the children. It was also told to them that they would also get a television for leisure. The children sang two beautiful songs in complete harmony and bid everyone with chorus of byes.
On a late evening, there was a visit to a Christian missionary run old-age home that is frequented by Guruma since long. The elderly waiting ladies embraced as soon as they saw Guruma and joys emancipated as they settled down in their chairs to talk to her. Here it was noticed that the old ladies were more interested in talking and sharing their world than in eating anything. Justifying Guruma gave them what they sought the most from here, her time and love. Soon, snacks and beverages were shared and all dug into their food with trembling hands, yet seen was a twinkle of love and gratitude in their eyes. Then old ladies then got up their chairs to offer a prayer of gratitude and blessing. Promising that they would be revisited again soon, the team took leave of the entire group.
One beautiful day saw the team visiting a mentally-challenged home for children run by a Christian missionary. It was heart-touching to see these children, as little as 5 years old being fed the eatables by the nuns looking after them. Their eyes spoke of the love they reciprocated and the food they relished in their own ways.
Another evening it was a short visit to an old-age home in the city. As the team entered with loads of food and drinks, the old mothers looked out desperately for Guruma, who could not join the team this day. One lady refused to come in as Guruma was not present and few were disappointed not to see her this time. They kept enquiring about her, which showed how much they loved to be in her presence. But, soon the focus changed to Ishan ji, whom they watched on television and there were compliments and words of love for him.
One early morning, just as the day began, the team got ready to go with Ishan ji who was invited to speak to little children in an under-privileged school. Ishan ji´s excitement was perhaps in par or even more than the children of the children. This was obvious when the team landed up at the school at 9 a.m. on the terrace of the rugged school. Delicacies along with drinks and fruits were taken along to the eagerly waiting children. Ishan ji spoke to the kids in the language they understood – simple and non-technical. A huge interaction of laughter and excitement followed among the children along with Ishan ji who mocked and imitated the characters of the story of Rishi Markandeya that carried a good message of the importance and powers of prayer. After the interactive session and some good laughter, the children settled down with the eatables and fruits and bid everyone with an applause.
Apart from these regular visits, the Foundation provides daily free evening meal near the ashram for the poor and hungry and upto 500 people everyday enjoy this blessed food along with occasional seasonal fruits and sweets. This seva goes on every single day across all seasons. The downtrodden crowd from below poverty line from the neighboring places gather every evening along with their children. This is the same food that is cooked and blessed in the ashram for ashramites. Along with the humans even the animals around like the dogs are pigs get a good feed everyday and it is worth a smile to notice them also queued up obediently for the people for finish their food and await their turn. The whole episode lasts for about an hour where one everybody sits in lines while the food arrives and within minutes the distribution is done. Ishanji also frequents this place and one evening it was a special delight for all when he ordered sweets for all and distributed mangoes himself.
The joy and happiness of everyone were indeed heart warming and it is indeed such a blessing that Babaji and the Foundation only await an opportunity to be of help to the creation in whichever way possible. Such a mission from Babaji not just is a motivating factor for sadhaks on the path of nishkaam seva but also is a driving force to do anything one can extend to the Universe that one is capable of not just financial or material support but even with a gesture of simple acts of giving, like sharing a smile with those who need it, lending a ear with patience and kindness, lending your time to be with those who need your time and love, cheering someone who needs that upliftment, handing a chocolate to a poor child, or even offering a silent prayer for others. These are the gestures of Babaji in daily life from a large fund-rasing project for the downtrodden to the most simplest of sharing a genuine smile to brighten up someone´s day. All these activities are ONLY the ones that happened in and around New Delhi and Gurgaon. Such activities are carried out in multiple locations all around in India and also in many locations overseas, which will be periodically written about here.
